The Eccentric Englishman began hosting in-house events, in 2022, including Bottomless Brunch quizzes, character-based Afternoon Teas, Psychic Events, Murder Mystery evenings and Live Music Suppers, which have always been over-subscribed; leading to most events being repeated month after month. More recently, The Eccentric Englishman has been booked to cater for outdoor events, festivals and private afternoon teas opening the Afternoon Tea business up to new and wider avenues. This growing interest in The Eccentric Englishman's in-house events, private group bookings for special occasions, and the gradual decline in people dropping in, during the day, has resulted in the proprietors, Lord and Lady Muck, taking the decision to focus purely on their most successful services. Lady Muck said "It makes sense really. We are getting more and more requests from people who want to hold their birthday parties, baby showers, hen parties and even pre- and post-Wedding groups, here, booking our famous 'Tiddley', 'Gentleman' or Festive Teas for them. It's sad, but over the past 6 months, we've noticed a marked drop in bookings for 4 or less people, but it seems to be the same story everywhere. However, we're delighted that our regular customers tell us what they want and we're happy to move with the times."
